Old Government House
A magnificent stone building of two storeys, built in 1904. Burnt in 1976. The inistry of Culture and Tourism began with restoration Works, to use the building as a culture center and a museum. It is located in Castle.
Hıdırlık Hill
Is the place where the Turks settled down when they came to Safranbolu. It has the form of an open-air place for public prayers. The prayers for rain and the hıdırellez celebrations (begining of summer) are made here. On the hill there are the mausoleum of Hasan Pahsa, the Governor of Köstenbil (1845), two open-air places for public prayers, the grave of Hızır (Hıdır) Pahsa and the mausoleum af Dr.Ali Yaver Ataman, one of the heroes of the Independence War (1955). There are two ways going up to the hill and back down.
The Part of bazaar for the Yemeneci
It is the old guild market consisting of 48 wood-shops next to Köprülü Mehmet Pahsa Mosque, where the so called "yemeni" shoes were made. The restorated bazaar is used for touristic reasons. The Ahmet Demirezen Yemenicilik Museum in the bazaar is open to visit also on weekwnds.
Ironsmith's Bazaar
The ironsmith's bazaar is the only living bazaar of the handcrafted cold and hot iron. The coppersmiths are also within this bazaar.
The Clock Tower
The clock tower has been built by the grand vizier İzzet Mehmet Pahsa of Sultan Selim III, in 1797. It has the form of a square but has no spring mechanism. The building is restorated and may be visited on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
The Sundail
The clock in the courtyard is an ordinary sundail. It shows the time between 06:40 and 17:20 on the shadow of the metal plate. It is assumed to be made in the mid of the 19th century.
Kazdağlıoğlu Mosque
Is attractive with its multiedges, tiled cupola at the entrance of the old bazaar. The mosque was built in 1779. The square which surrounds it was named after it.
Kaçak (Lütfiye) Mosque
Kaçak Mosque is at Akçasu and was built in 1880 on the Akçasu brook using archs.
Ulu Mosque (Ayestefenos Church)
It is old church built in 1872. The Skalion School (1863) and the Priest's House around at are forming a nice complex.
The Mosque of İzzet Mehmet Pahsa
The Grand Vizier İzzet Mehmet Pahsa had this mosque built in 1796. It is like small model of Nuruosmaniye Mosque with its elegant minaret, zine covered dome and iner decorations. Its courtyard and minaret have been built on arches over the river.
The Mosque Of Köprülü Mehmet Pahsa
Köprülü Mehmet Pasha had this masterpiece built and it was opened to pray in 1661. This is the biggest mosque in Safranbolu. The shape of the dome looks like a helmet. The architecture and decoration of the dome is remerkable. There are "muvakkithane", "şadırvan", sun-dial in the courtyard of the mosque.
İncekaya Water Aqueduct
The aqueduct, have made by the grand vizier İzzet Mehmet Pahsa is 7,5 kms awey from the city center. It is 116 meters long with 6 archs. The aqueduct has awidhth of 110-120 cm. The water aqueduct has been restorated and under the aqueduct there is a stage for various activities.
Archaeological Areas
There are many stone graves in Hacılarobası, Çavuşlar, Üçbölük, Aköre and Aşağı Güney. In and around the city center there are also tumuli.
